Robolabs extends its vortex popping range to popcorn makers operating at skale
ROBOLABS has recently introduced the Robopop Factory automatic popcorn production line to take its tried and tested vortex popping technology to an industrial level.
Robopop is based around the company’s patent pending vortex popping technology, which uses swirling hot air to pop corn kernels before whipping them up and away from the hote zone just milliseconds after popping. This provides advantages in terms of health and quality, says the company.
For instance, a short time in the hot zone prevents the overheated , spongy texture that can sometimes result from non-oil-based popping methoods. Robolabs claims its popped com offers the same crunchy texture as corn cooked in oil. What’s more, not only is the fat and calorie content reduced but vortex popping also elimirates the possibiility of carcinogens forming when vegetable oils are overheated.
The resulting corn can be flavoured with oi and seasonings or coated with cheese or caramet to create a gourmet snack.
The line is scalable, so producers can start from 100kg per hour and increase production capacity up to 500 kg per hour. The line can be run by just one operator.
